Adverse Weather Policy

Updated 7 January, 2026

adverse Weather or other acts of god

The Institute desires to facilitate each event in its entirety to provide the full benefit to attending participants.

In the event of adverse weather conditions or other acts of God, the event staff, together with ICC leadership, will make every effort to decide whether to dismiss or cancel the event at the earliest possible time to ensure participants’ safety. Decisions are made with regard to conditions on or near the facility and do not necessarily reflect conditions or roads throughout the region, county or state.

Communication:

  • Prior to an event:
    • Cancellation will be announced by email to all participants prior to the event.
  • During an event:
    • Termination will be announced to all participants and guests through any PA system, postings, and event staff.

Expectations and Conditions:

  • Regardless of any announcement, members should exercise personal judgment concerning highway road conditions, particularly those from other counties or remote areas.
  • When an event is cancelled prior to the event, credits will be issued toward another event or refunded.
  • No refunds or credits will be issued for a terminated event when event staff makes the decision to end early.
  • The Institute reserves the right to grant exceptions by joint decision of the event staff and Institute leadership.
  • ICCFS Tournaments:
    • Speakers are expected to participate in the tournament through the ICCFS Showcase unless an official announcement is made by Tournament Staff to end the tournament prematurely.
    • Speakers leaving prior to an ICCFS declared closing will forfeit any awards or invitations for which they may have qualified through tournament rankings.
